Cameron Maybin comes up swinging for the Florida Marlins
Cameron Maybin was the prize of the Miguel Cabrera/ Dontrelle Willis trade over the winter and he has come up swinging in September. Since his recall from AA, Maybin has played in 7 games for the Marlins and he is 14 for 28 (.500 avg) with 8 runs scored, 2 RBIs and 3 stolen bases. Maybin will get another opportunity next spring to win the starting CF job for the Marlins and I think he will get it. Maybin had a so-so season in AA for the Marlins this season. He played in 108 games in the minors this season and he was 108 for 390 (.277 avg, .831 OPS) with 73 runs scored, 13 homers, 49 RBIs and 21 stolen bases. Maybin’s future is very bright and the thought of him and Hanley Ramirez at the top of the lineup has to have the front office of the Marlins happy.
