Former Marlins’ reliever Henry Owens has been suspended for 50 games by major league baseball for testing positive for a banned substance. Owens took the drug to try to speed up his recovery from shoulder surgery. He pitched in 22 games (0 starts) for the Marlins in 2007 and he was 2-0 with 4 saves, a 1.96 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP. It will be interesting to see who gives Owens a chance this season with a cloud hanging over him now.
