The Florida Marlins have placed Hanley Ramirez on the D.L.
The Marlins have placed 27-year old righty swinging shortstop Hanley Ramirez on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to August 3rd with a sprained left shoulder. Ramirez has played in 92 games this year for the Marlins and he is 82 for 338 (.243 avg, .712 OPS) with 55 runs scored, 10 homers, 45 RBIs and 20 stolen bases. Emilio Bonifacio will continue to replace Ramirez until he’s ready to return to action. Bonifacio has played in 106 games already this year for the Marlins and he is 107 for 373 (.287 avg, .732 OPS) with 58 runs scored, 2 homers, 18 RBIs and 27 stolen bases. The Marlins hope that Ramirez will be ready to return to action next weekend.
